Your union needs your help to provide needed emergency funds to our IAFF Disaster Relief Fund. Over the last two weeks, you've seen your brothers and sisters in action in response to Hurricane Harvey, working around the clock to rescue literally tens of thousands of civilians, while risking their own lives and knowing their own homes were likely damaged or destroyed.

Our disaster relief efforts on the ground in Texas and Louisiana are nothing short of amazing. On behalf of our entire membership and the IAFF Executive Board, I want to thank our members in the disaster zone for their commitment to serving their communities despite dealing with their own personal losses. Firefighter’s vs the General Population Cancer Risk
12/16/16 - IAFF Local 785
Here is a benefit the city of Lewiston leaders have not decided to take away from us. The benefit of a reduced life span for doing a job that we love. Today marks 792 days without a contract, our guess their disrespect for our existence is much longer than that.
Both police and firefighters exist to serve and protect.
12/16/16 - IAFF Local 785
Both police and firefighters exist to serve and protect. The politicians love us when we are in the spotlight and question our necessity behind closed doors. No one chooses to become a police officer or a firefighter for fame or fortune, we do it because that is who we are, you call for help, we do our best to accommodate.
